The early church had woman who spoke the Word of God, but none who held the office of pastor. In order to support the practice of woman pastors, one must find either New Testament example or teaching. However, there is zero evidence of any woman being a pastor in the first century, and furthermore, when Paul gives the qualifications of an elder, he uses language that makes it crystal clear that no woman can fulfill that role.
In 1 Timothy 3:2 he says the elder must be “the husband of one wife” which is impossible for a woman. That’s not a cultural preference, that’s a biblical command. Women may teach other women and children, but she cannot be the primary teacher of men, as 1 Tim 2:12, “Suffer not a woman to teach, nor to usurp authority over the man.”
If you are in a church with a female pastor, they are either ignorant of scripture, or wilfully disobedient to God’s Word. Is that a church where God would want you to worship?
